Progress cannot happen without support from our fellow employer organizations, foundations, and individuals who have all shown a dedication to helping us achieve equity and prosperity within our industry. We are thankful for all listed here, and proud of the programs we’ve been able to produce with their help.
High Road Kitchens was conceived of in response to COVID as a way to address three challenges. First, to allow access to free meals for folks who are food insecure. Next, to increase employment security for underemployed service sector professionals who had been laid off, furloughed, or had their hours reduced. Finally, to support and highlight independent restaurants that commit to High Road employment practices, specifically wage, race, and gender equity in recruitment, hiring, training, and promotional practices.
On the third Monday of every month at 10am PST/1pm EST, we hold a national members call for an hour, featuring exciting educational guests, updates on our work, new member spotlights, and open discussion with our Directors and colleagues.
Each year, we invite members to convene in Washington DC for a two-day, educational networking event, which includes guest speakers, panelists, and lobbying of legislators. 2021 will likely be a digital conference
